We specialise in providing training in the safe release of trapped lift passengers for a wide variety of clients, particularly NHS trusts, educational bodies, hotel groups and government agencies, certifying over 14,000 candidates since we began training in 2006.

Our courses

In addition to passenger release training, our courses include lift awareness and lift technology training, and how to use evacuation lifts in a fire or emergency situation. We also provide specialist training in the evacuation, rescue and retrieval of casualties from lifts, training over 900 fire fighters and emergency response crews to date. Basic lift technology

This course is designed to enhance understanding of the technical and practical aspects of lift technology for staff responsible for operating an efficient lift service within their premises.

Safe release of trapped lift passengers training

Also known as lift entrapment and emergency release training, this course is designed for staff who are nominated to carry out the safe release of trapped lift passengers. It provides the competence to rescue passengers trapped in a lift in accordance with BS7255:2023 Safe Working on Lifts.

Rescue of casualties from lift incidents training

We train emergency response crews to assess and resolve a variety of casualty scenarios when dealing with the evacuation, rescue and retrieval of casualties from lift incidents. To date, we have provided this training to over 900 fire fighters and first responders.

Lift awareness training for persons responsible for lift management

Designed for people who are responsible for lifts and their maintenance and upkeep, this course gives an understanding of the technical, legal and practical knowledge to manage a lift portfolio.

Fire/emergency evacuation training using designated lifts

Contrary to popular belief, certain types of lifts can be used to evacuate persons of limited mobility in the event of a fire. This course enables nominated persons to use designated lifts, such as evacuation and firefighting lifts, to evacuate personnel during an emergency.

Lift release warden training – emergency rescue procedures to release trapped lift passengers

This course is for healthcare staff who are designated as Lift Release Wardens (as defined in HTM 08-02) to carry out the emergency rescue of trapped lift passengers on their premises.
